Swiss Bistro

At our Bistro I sometimes get a question 「How much will it cost me.....」 I say: 「It depends on the person ...and the menu is here you can see all the prices.」 and they say: 「I am quite a big eater so is it enough for me? Will I be full? ...」 I don't know what to say....　 because I don't know the person, if a person eats a lot and how much? I am small but I eat a lot too..... Sometimes I feel like saying " Do you want to tell me .....well.....for your size, you are bigger than me you need to order two main dishes." but this is sooo rude! so "I don't really get this kind of questioning." Another funny question is.... 「How long in advance do I have to book a table?」  ::「When do you want to come?」 「Oh I don't know yet.」 ::「Then when you know you can book a table.」 That is simple enough isn't it!? Anyway those questions always come from women.....

Cherry blossoms this year are about 10 days earlier than usual.....   They are beautiful but I did not feel anything special.......   We climbed the watch tower..  The view from watch tower ........nice..... In UENO, Last year.   Last year we went to Ueno which is a famous spot for Cherry Blossom.....but there were too many people.  In New Zealand I thought in New Zealand Cherry Blossom trees were more lovely ........

Sad.......... While overseas I heard Japan has manners and respects but since I came back Japan has changed lot ..... The Bicycles do n't ride on the left side of the street. Riding the bicycle left side is a traffic rule but people mostly do not care, they do not obey the rule.... which will sometimes make accidents. The cars don't stop at the pedestrian crossing. The pedestrians are waiting for crossing most of the cars ignore stopping for them.... Pedestrians have  priority.  please be careful .... The cars don't give way for emergency cars. When the siren is on, ambulances, police cars and fire engine have right away on the streets, but the other cars do not give them priority .........I was so surprised.... they don't pull over  at all..... selfish !! No thank you and no sorry... Most Japanese don't say Sorry or Thank you ...I was surprised. I usually heard Japanese are polite. But I found when I came back to Japan this time, it is not the case....

Rumtopf is a Germanic Dessert, Summer fruits marinated in  Rum and sugar.  BACARDI Rum,  this is 75%alchol Marinated for at least 3 months the longer the better.......so need to wait for a while... Serve with a scoop of ice cream.... one of our  best  dessert  !!!!!!!!!!!!  I want to make it again  but in Japan it is a bit difficult to get Raspberry, apricot, Black Cherry.......... which are the best ingredients for Rumtopf. 

Growing Nuessli in a little garden. Nuessli is popular vegetable herb in Europe .... we eat it as a salad in Switzerland. They have soft leaves and not bitter or strong  and a nutty taste.  マ―シュ / コーンサラダ with Georges's salad sauce...... yummy!!!

2: Swiss Wines and Drinks Start from aperitif........ " Prost !!!! " We are not boozer.....but having a delicious meal always need a nice drink! Swiss wine is very delicious but very hard to find in other countries. Red wine   Dôle   is from Valais :Gamay graps   White wine   Saint Saphorin   is from the French part of Switzerland.  :Chasselas grapes Aigle Les Murailles   is also from the  French part of Switzerland. :Chasselas graps am Thuner See.... " Prost !!!! " Schnapps is a Swiss alcohol about 35℃-45℃ made from fruits. Kirsch ........ Cherry　　Williams ....... Pear　　Zwetschgen......Prune     .....etc.... Swiss Beer is very nice too!!!  Unfortunately we can not to find any in Japan. Coffee is also very good in Switzerland ! Coffee schnapps is very popular in Swizterland.   Our Bistro has some Swiss wines and Schnapps too...

Walking around " SOKA City " near the station..... It is about 30 minutes by train from the centre of Tokyo. It is not really a modern city, but it is convenient with a few old places with history ... Hudabagashi Park 　　 →   Hudabagashi park   Watch Tower Beautiful spot for Cherry blossoms in the spring. Yatate Bridge 　 96.3ｍ long  4.14m wide. It has been choosen as one of " The 100 best roads in Japan ".         The view from the top of the bridge.......... Georges says it remains him about England 40 years ago ........   Pine tree path.....with 634 pine trees. Sadly the river looks not pretty.......actually very dirty and disgusting........... In Switzerland river is this,.............             and in New Zealand is this.......... Nikko Kaido was one of the five routes of the Edo period and it was built to connect Edo(Tokyo) with the Nikko Tosho-gu in Nikk...
