Swiss Bistro

It was a terrible year for us......we had a lot of earthquakes and we lost our cafe since the 22nd of February ... but we want to say thank you to our friends and the people who supported and encouraged us. W e  hope next year will be much better with your help.

Merry Christmas !!! We usually work on Christmas day so this year is not  the same for us............ too quiet for us. 1. Opening some presents  DIESEL perfume 2. Another lot of earthquakes hit Christchurch. The first one 1:58pm  M5.8 was followed by  M5.3 , M4.6 and M6.0....M5.0...... scary... We thought it was over now slowly and the city cordon was starting to reduce itself ....but it was back to square one again !!! Pictures of 23rd. Dec Christchurch Earthquake

Rumtopf is a jar full of summer fruits soaking in rum and sugar made in the summer to be eaten in the winter time. You can eat it with ice cream or in a pancake......or even mix the juice in a glass of Champagne or sparkling wine. Last year we made it  but it was broken in the earthquake......... so we hope for better luck this year !!! You can buy it at the Swiss café this winter.....

Hanmer Spring is a little village about 2 hours drive from Christchurch. Taking a little walk around the park with pound.  The entrance of the hot spring pools. This time we didn't go in the pool.........  next time we will bring our swimming costume. There are a few big funny trees around......... It was a nice summer day in Hanmer Spring. It is a good place for holidays !!

......... again...... ++++++++ recipe ++++++++ Egg white 150ml(about 4), Custer sugar 220g  (too sweet for me) 180g, Corn flour 2table spoon, Vinegar 2tea spoon, Cream(about 200g) and Fruits for decorateion M ixer & whisk the egg white in the bowl until stiff peaks form. G radually add the sugar, whisking well untillthe mixture is stiff & glossy. A dd the corn flour & vinegar, whisk until just combined. P reheat oven 150℃ S hape the mixture into 180cm round on the baking tray. R educe oven to 120℃ & bake for 1 hour 20minutes . T urn oven off & allow the Pavlova to cool completely in the oven. D ecorate with your desired toppings, cream and fruits....

FC Basel     beat    Manchester United in the European Championship, yeah !!!  so, Manchester is out.  Now, Swiss is in 1/8 final.   Switzerland won World championship U-17 in 2009,   so Hopp Schwitz, Hopp Schwitz !!!

Monk Fish baked in foil cook with onion, capsicum, lemon juice,season and white wine, put it in the oven. when you eat put coriander. Baked potato with Swiss Cheese bake the potato in the oven then scoop potato out, mash the potato with fried bacon and onions, Swiss cheese and season then put it back,  crispy bacon, Swiss cheese on top, put in the oven till cheese melted.  ★Tip： Swiss cheese for a better taste !!!   Asparagus wrapped with Prosciutto Easy cooking but nice!

I received a parcel from Switzerland !!!!!!!!!  yeah.  It was a big box. I thought I should have waited to open it at Christmas......but I couldn't wait knowing it was from Switzerland. 1. A lovely Swiss card. 2. A cute little magnet clip..... 3.  I always need Swiss chocolat. 4. A Swiss Calender 2012, .....and 5. A Swiss T-shirt,  yeah !!!!! mmm.... I can't throw away even the wrapping paper ( Swiss newspaper) ...I am a Swiss-holic ......... hahaha, " hopp Schwitz." Thank you very very much...xxx 

The Rose garden is lovely............... and smells sweet everywhere. There are about a hundred of different roses. Western sun One of Giorgio's favorite rose, beautiful smell.
