Swiss Bistro

Today was nice, so we went for a walk. Accidentally, we found the Mediterranean shop open. We just went in to have a look but, I should have known Giorgio would not be able to resist good food.................. His wallet was out straightaway. A real Baguette , Prosciutto  Crudo, Coppa and  Italian Salami We had an unexpected nice lunch with wine. ...other things we bought were, Amarettino  (Italian biscuits), Dried   Porcini  (Italian mushrooms), Polenta  (ground corn) and  Italian cherry biscuits After this nice meal we had a   Kaffee Fertig . (Swiss coffee with schnapps) It is nice !!! You can have it at our Cafe when we re-open. Schnapps is a spirit (alcohol content usually around 40℃)

A temporary mall in Cashel street in the red-zone was open today with containers. wow........... there were a lot of people. We haven't seen so many people in the city center for a long time............  people..... ............ and people................ The shops are made from containers, it looks good. We found our favorite shop which sales imported stuff. Only one department store Ballantynes, in the city center is open.  The bridge of remembrance is still standing. The weather was nice today !!!! Sumner has been badly damaged by the February's earthquake, part of the cliff fell down and the streets were badly damaged. The streets are still bumpy and fences are everywhere. Sumner has nice beach with a lot of people in the Summer. Today was a bank holiday in New Zealand (Labour Day) so people were enjoying walking and being in the sunshine. We could see the Alps over there, they are still covered with snow........beautiful.                         .........some damages from the earthquake............ Araucaria

The final of the Rugby wold cap 2011 was won by the All Blacks,  Congratulations !!!! The All Blacks have been working hard for this victory, so they deserve to win. Good on them. The weather changed to be nice in the afternoon. I enjoyed the Sun shine, doing crochet outside.  In the Sun it was warm and comfortable.  The Sun in New zealand is so strong that I need to protect myself perfectly.........  This style is perfect for me, a long sleeve shirts and a big hat !! The cherry blossoms are still nice here. This one, I call " fluffy cherry blossom " . The season of cherry blossom in New Zealand is long. I like it.
