Swiss Bistro

A nice meal makes me feel better!!!!!! Girogio baked Swiss bread ' Zopf ' for breakfast, with Swiss black cherry jam. For dinner, Pork chop and, french bean risotto Buon appetito !!

It was nice but a bit cold. We went for a short walk, did skip rope, then we locked ourselves out. I had to climb the wall again, I scratched myself, it hurts.

Giorgio's friend is a hairdresser. Her shop was in the city center which is still closed, so she decided to open a salon at her home. It is nice and cosy, two lovely dogs accompany her everywhere. Giorgio had his hair cut, it looks good now!!!!!

I am  really bored.............no Swiss cafe, no work, nowhere to go.  I still can't go into the city center. I feel like I am doing home detention. I am fed up with this life, if only the government would open the city  center  we can work!!!!!! Our cafe is just there!!!! To make us feel better, yesterday, we went to have a look at the  Tower  Junction which is a little mall. It was the first time we had a look at all shops. In the super market, there were some nice and fresh vegetables. I found some Japanese apple called Fuji I wanted to buy but I forgot .......... Today, we went to Palms mall . This mall had a big damage in the earthquake but it has just reopened. A few shops are still closed and it was bit quiet.

The cherry blossom is the Japanese symbol. It is a beautiful flower, when it blooms and when the petals flows in the air. It makes me so happy when it is happening.... There are many Cherry blossom trees in Christchurch , they remind me of Japan. This year again it is beautiful.

Yesterday afternoon, a man came to cut the cabbage tree in our little yard, because the tree was blocking the sunshine in our living room. After an hour, we couldn't hear any sound from the yard so, we went to have a look.  He had already gone, and the yard was in this mess!!!! He just cut the tree..... I knew cutting the tree was his only job, but don't you think tiding a little would be normal ????? We tidied it up by ourselves, it looks a little bit better now. The landlord will come to pick up the rubbish in a couple of weeks. Now, we have a lot of sunshine in the room , happy !!!

Christchurch is called " The garden city " There are a lot of flowers around at this time of the year and they are beautiful. Red Rhododendron                       Magnolia Magnolia kobus  I like Pansy, they are cute.

Marinade  Sirloin roast ( Entrecote),  cooked perfectly.    with salad & Italian Risotto. When Giorgio cooks with passion, it will be like that.   Molto Buono !!!!!!!!!!!

Rugby World Cup 2011 started today. They won't play in Christchurch because of the earthquake .........sad, but there is some facilities to enjoy the rugby at Hagley park. It was quiet when we went to have a look today but it will probable be busy tonight. I am not really interested in rugby but the Japanese team is in, so of course I will support Japan & New Zealand !! How about Giorgio !? Switzerland isn't in it ....which team will he support !? >>>>>>> Australia !!! and New Zealand. And,  there is also the Art Festival in Christchurch too, It was a nice day for walking,  Hagley park was shining green !!!

Giorgio always wants something sweet after his meals, so today I baked an orange Cointreau cake, citrus biscuits & some citrus juice. I like citrus food and drinks.  It has a lot of vitamin C.

 Da Giorgio Swiss Bratwurst with mushroom sauce  and lightly curried Kumara (New Zealand sweet potato), carrots glacees. ........yum, nice Swiss Bratwurst, I like Giorgio's carrots glacees !!

It is a year today since the big earthquake in Christchurch. Today Christchurch's night sky was lit by beams to remind us the future is bright. Those lights will stay on till the 22nd of February. I can see the lights from my house.

Dinner at my private restaurant " Da Giorgio " , yeah !! Tonight we had a roast leg of lamb with mash potato and vegetables. The lamb was nice and tender, and I love the veges. Buon apetito.
